A long weekend on the Nature Coast

A flexible
3-day Homosassa itinerary.

Three days is enough to experience the river, wildlife and Old Florida atmosphere without turning the trip into a race.

Day by day

One simple
Homosassa plan.

01

Day 1: Arrive & Explore

Settle in, get oriented and spend the afternoon around Homosassa. Choose a casual local meal and keep the first day light after travel.

02

Day 2: Water Day

Choose the activity that fits your season: fishing, kayaking, a guided river trip, manatee experience or legal-season scalloping.

03

Day 3: Wildlife & Local Time

Consider Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, another river activity or an easy local morning before departure.

04

Weather Option

Keep the days interchangeable. Florida weather and water conditions can make swapping Day 2 and Day 3 the better plan.

Choose by season

Let the calendar
shape the weekend.

Winter visitors often put wildlife and comfortable outdoor weather near the top of the list. Summer trips may focus more heavily on boating, fishing and scalloping when legal seasons and conditions align. Spring and fall can be excellent times for a less rigid Nature Coast escape.

Always confirm current tour availability, park hours, fishing or scalloping regulations and weather before finalizing the day. Our full trip planner, manatee guide, fishing guide and kayaking guide can help.
